| Description | Overall objective: To contribute to the protection of life environment by removing illegal garbage dumps, establishing of monitoring system and raising the awareness of people about correct waste disposal. Specific objective 1: To establish sustainable model of environment protection by removing 12 illegal garbage dumps (at least 50 tons of garbage), and establishing of 4 monitoring systems for protection of areas Specific objective 2: To provide conditions for change in habits of local populations in the 2 target municipalities through raising their awareness about correct disposal of wasteProject activities: 1. Familiarizing of Local Self-Governments, Public Utility Companies and Utility Services Border Police from Montenegro and Serbia with Project Activities 2. | Expected results | R1.1 – 12 illegal garbage dumps in Serbia and Montenegro – 6 in Serbia (at least 20 tons of garbage) and 6 in Montenegro cleaned up and closed. R1.2 – System of project sustainability aimed at prevention of repeated waste disposal established through monitoring system (video surveillance) and placing of physical obstacles at 6 locations in Serbia and six in Montenegro. R1.3 – 6 areas in Serbia and 6 in Montenegro afforested and re- greened. R2.1 – 25% of local population familiarized with the regular ways of waste disposal.
