Description Overall objective: To aaccelerate tourism development of Lezha and Gjakova/Đakovica regions through increased diversity and quality of touristic offer by unveiling cultural and historical wealth resulting in increased attractiveness of the CB region and growing number of tourists.

Specific objective(s):
– SO1. Boost smart tourism growth by introducing and launching new integrated touristic content through infrastructural interventions in both countries;
– SO2. Build an economic model through the implementation of digital technologies and soft infrastructure modernization of two new tourism sites in both countries;
– SO3. Unleash the region’s touristic potential by combining natural resources, cultural heritage, and values through the promotion of new integrated joint tourism offers and enhanced business linkages in the CB region.

Target groups:

Stakeholders working in the sectors of tourism and cultural and natural heritage:
– Museums and public institutions;
– Local providers of touristic services;
– Tourism Professionals
– Craftsmanship community and chambers
– Public institutions and local government
– Private organizations, CSOs/NGOs (in tourism and sports), chambers, associations

Private business sector – micro, small and medium businesses involved in THS

Final Beneficiaries:
– Lezha and Gjakova/Đakovica Municipalities as well as other municipalities in the region and nearby these regions, and their inhabitants;
– The cross-border business sector, traditional local guide tours businesses, and the social economy;
– Domestic and foreign tourists; local household economies;
– specific interest groups (including environmental, adventure groups, cultural heritage protection agencies, and women entrepreneurs’ groups);

Summary of the planned activities:

Component I / New Tourism Infrastructure

1.1 Office Logistics and start of Recruitment process for new hiring
1.2 Conduct necessary investment planning
1.3 Construction of Medieval Archaeological Museum’ in Lezha and ‘Museum and Chamber of Crafts’ in Gjakova/Đakovica

Component II / Implement and modernize the soft infrastructure of two museums through digital technology
2.1 Logistic and procurement process for the selection firm to implement audio guide Technology
2.2 Prepare the tender for selection of a firm for the professional Storytelling
2.3 Evaluate museum content and ensure accurate historic information / determine needs & provide overall guidance and interpretation of artefacts
2.4 Research and purchase digital tools that connects two museums

Component III / One new joint and integrated tourism offer developed and commercialized

3.1 Develop a well-defined, detailed and comprehensive joint tourism offer document including all specificities; advantages; deployment strategy

3.2 Organizing two promotion and visibility open air events Information/promotion campaigns

3.3 Information/promotion campaigns implemented to commercialise the new joint product

Expected results Estimated results:

1. Investments in 2 new sites creating an entirely new touristic offer in both regions: i) ‘Medieval Archaeological Museum’; ii) ‘Museum and Chamber of Crafts’ in Gjakova/Đakovica;
2. Two Museums fully equipped with digital technological infrastructure including implementation of multi-lingual audioguides as hardware appliances technology;
3. Implement a combined 90-minute-long professional storytelling for up to 50 selected artifacts, artworks, crafts available in four languages;
4. One new joint and integrated tourism offer/package developed and commercialized;
5. Two promotion and visibility events conducted to commercialize and introduce the new tourism product/destination in the newly built tourism sites hosting up to 200 participants;
6. Four digital promotion campaigns integrated with modern marketing techniques conducted, reaching out to 50,000 tourists;
7. 30 tour operators and business providers officially launch the new joint product to their prospective customers.
