Description Overall objective: Decreasing biodiversity threats within protected areas across borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. Specific objectives: SO 1: Increasing capacities of nature protection institutions and organizations to reduce biodiversity threats SO 2: Development and pilot implementation of species management plans in line with EU Directives SO 3: Raising awareness of local and national population on the benefits of higher environmental protection standards implementation Planned activities: A1. Conducting analyses of biodiversity threats in protected areas across the border A2. Implementing a capacity building programme for PA administration and environmental NGOs to conduct biodiversity monitoring of threatened species/habitats A3. Equipping PA and environmental NGOs with technical equipment for biodiversity monitoring A4. Developing of at least 4 species management plans in line with EU Directives A5. Developing at least 10 threatened species monitoring protocols in line with EU Directives A6. Launching the implementation of at least two species management plans and 10 species monitoring protocols A7. Developing joint raising awareness campaign based on charismatic and threatened species like bears, capercaillies, woodpeckers, eagles A8. Establishing partnership with formal MoU signing on biodiversity protection with hunting association and forestry sector/logging companies A9. Implementing pilot actions for local population to reduce biodiversity conflict while promoting benefits of higher environmental protection standards
