Description Overall objective: The overall objective: To strengthen sustainable development in the cross-border area between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro by implementing common actions on improving resource efficiency in the water supply sector. Specific objectives: SO 1: To strengthen the capacity for water and energy efficient water supply services. SO 2: To promote EU policies and practices for efficient use of resources in water supply services. Planned activities: Activity 1- Capacity building to improve provision of water and energy efficiency of water supply services. Activity 1.1 Development of standard operating procedures for energy efficiency (EE) and water efficiency (WE) in water utilities. Activity 1.2 Trainings on EE and WE improvement. Activity 1.3 Trainings on benchmarking of EE and WE. Activity 1.4 Pilot actions for improving EE and WE in 4 utilities. Activity 1.5 Preparation of action plans to improve water and energy efficiency in pilot utilities. Activity 1.6 Capacity building of pilot utilities. Activity 2 – Promotion of EU policies, standards and practices to increase water and energy efficiency in the water supply sector. Activity 2.1 Organisation of a conference on water and energy efficiency for water utilities. Activity 2.2 Organisation of a conference on benchmarking for water utilities. Activity 2.3 Organisation and dissemination of project results at the final conference. Activity 2.4 Development of a social network for promotion of EU policies, standards and practices to increase water and energy efficiency in the water supply sector and promotion of project results. Activity 2.5 Development of web platform for learning and networking, exchanging experiences and knowledge sharing
Expected results Expected results: Result 1: The capacities to improve water and energy efficiency of water supply services are strengthened. Result 2: Increased awareness of a large number of stakeholders and general public about policies, standards and practices to achieve higher water and energy efficiency in the water supply sector.
