Description Overall objective: Improved protection of the environment and people through reduced risks of disasters in the cross-border area

Specific objective:
1. Strengthened capacities of institutions and services for disaster risk reduction – DRR with the emphasis on flood protection and rescue
2.  Raised awareness of the local population on protection from floods and DRR

Project activities:
1.1 Procurement of equipment for protection from floods
1.2 Cross-border trainings for rescuers on Protection in case of floods and on swift waters
1.3 Cross-border field exercises
1.4 Workshops on Flood Protection for municipal emergency units
1.5 Training on GIS Mapping for professionals dealing with emergencies
1.6 Updating of the databases on floods in the region of Skadar Lake

4. Cooperation between protection and rescue units and institutions from Albania and Montenegro improved (related to the Specific objective 2)
5. Institutions and services in charge of protection and rescue from Albania and Montenegro familiarized with the best EU practice in flood protection and rescue (related to the Specific objective 2)
Expected outputs Two cross-border trainings on Protection in case of floods and on swift waters;
Two cross-border demonstration exercises on Protection in case of floods and on swift waters organized;
5 workshops on Protection in case of floods and on swift waters in target municipalities;
2 sets of Equipment for protection and rescue in case of floods procured and operational;
80 rescuers from the target area improved their knowledge, skills and competences through trainings, workshops and exercises;
Training on GIS Mapping organized;
Databases on floods in the region of Skadar Lake updated;
20 professionals dealing with emergency management improved their knowledge on GIP Mapping and creation of databases
Seminar on Best EU Practice in Flood Protection organized and attended by 25 professionals dealing with emergency management in Montenegro and Albania;
At least two round tables on Best EU Practice in Flood Protection organized and attended by professionals dealing with emergency management in Montenegro and Albania.
Information on Best EU Practice in Flood Protection shared with Montenegrin and Albanian stakeholders.
2 cross-border trainings on Forecasting and Early Warning System organized and attended by estimated 40 professionals from Montenegro and Albania;
2 sets for Equipment for forecasting and early warning system procured and operational in both countries;
