On Wednesday, 26 January 2022, the final conference of the project “Tourism, Adrenaline and Rafting Adventure (T.A.R.A.)” (funded under the IPA II CBC programme Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro programme) was held in Plužine. During this event the achieved results of the project were presented.

One of the biggest achievements of the project is the branding of the municipalities of Foča and Plužine, as the unique tourist destinations for active holidays. In addition joint tourist offers were created in order to attract more tourists. The results of the project include the improvement of the tourist infrastructure, and the establishment of mechanisms for increasing security at tourist locations.

The President of the Municipality of Plužine, Mijuško Bajagić and the Mayor of Foča, Milan Vukadinović, expressed great satisfaction with the achieved results of the project and cooperation, and expressed gratitude to the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina for financing the project and investing in this region. It was highlighted that these two municipalities have been achieving successful cooperation and friendly relations for many years, and it was mentioned that they will continue to do so in the future, in order to improve the tourist offer. Milan Vukadinović, Mayor of Foča, pointed out that he had launched an initiative for a project that would solve the road infrastructure of the international road Plužine – Šćepan Polje – Foča, which would be of great importance for improving tourist infrastructure leading to the arrival of more tourists in this cross-border area.

The participants of the conference had the opportunity to watch a promotional film about the tourist potentials of this cross-border area.

The conference was organized within the cross-border cooperation project “Tourism, Adrenaline and Rafting Adventure (TARA)”, funded by the European Union in the amount of EUR 499,654.00. Project is implemented by the municipalities of Plužine (ME) and Foča (BiH) in cooperation with the Nature Park “Piva” and the Tourist Organization of Foča, and the goal of the project is the development and promotion of the cross-border area of these two municipalities, as unique tourist destinations for active tourism.
