During the two-day closing conference within the project “Reducing the impact of local communities in the cross-border region of Serbia and Montenegro on climate challenges – WE CAN”,  held on 3 and 4 June 2021 in Kraljevo, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the results of the project.

On that occasion, the representatives of the municipality of Pljevlja had the opportunity to meet with the representatives of the city of Kraljevo. In the introductory part, the mayor of Kraljevo, Dr. Predrag Terzić, and the president of the municipality of Pljevlja, Mr. Igor Golubović, as well as the project manager Dragan Roganović addressed the conference.

Achievements of the project were presented by representatives of all four partners: Ibar Development Association “IDA” Kraljevo, Grijanje d.o.o. Pljevlja, Public Energy Company “Toplana” Kraljevo and the Center for Environmental Initiatives from Berane.

In the continuation of the visit, the participants visited the Public Energy Company “Toplana”, where they had the opportunity to use the method of fixing the 50kW solar power plant, which was installed and put into operation within the project.

In the afternoon program, a workshop “Roles of the sector in reducing the impact of the cross-border area on climate change” was realized. During the workshop participants had the opportunity to define further directions of cooperation and implementation of measures that reduce the negative impact on climate change.

On the second day of the final conference, a workshop “Analysis of the effect of the project and planning of future activities and cooperation” was held and participants gave an opinion on the project and defined recommendations for further improvement in future projects of the project consortium.
