The conference with an aim of  presenting equipment procured within the project “Let’s be prepared” was held on 3 June 2021 in Novi Pazar. New equipment procured for the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia – Sector for Emergency Situations was presented at the conference. Equipment for protection and rescue from floods and fires was procured, which includes five off-road vehicles, five thermal imaging cameras and five portable water tanks, which were given to the city of Novi Pazar and the municipalities of Tutin, Sjenica and Raska. The value of the purchased equipment is 82,421.48 euros.

The project aims to improve the capacity of competent institutions from Serbia and Montenegro that deal with protection and rescue for fire and flood prevention and mitigation, as well as informing the population of the cross-border area about the importance of reducing the risk of disasters. Other project activities include cross-border trainings and demonstration exercises on fire and flood protection and rescue, cross-border seminars on good practice models for fire and flood protection, an international conference on disaster risk reduction, an information campaign. on disaster risks, preventive measures and activities that should be taken in cases of certain disasters, etc.

The total value of the project is 422,967.60 euros, of which the contribution of the European Union is 359,480.16 euros. The value of the project for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia is 145,756.95 euros.

The leading partner in the project is FORS Montenegro, while the partner in the Republic of Serbia is the Ministry of Interior. The project is being implemented in Montenegro in the municipalities of Berane, Bijelo Polje, Niksic, Savnik, Zabljak, Pljevlja and Petnjica, while in Serbia it is being implemented in the municipalities of Novi Pazar, Sjenica, Tutin and Raska.
