Background and Objectives The bilingual entrepreneurial internet platform NUVOLAK is an upgrade of the successful Slovenian web-based platform MIKROBIZ (www.mikrobiz.net). During the time that has elapsed since the successful implementation of MIKROBIZ, a lot of experience as well as several ideas have been gathered. This experience and ideas have been taken up by NUVOLAK in an upgraded version of the web-based platform, expanded to become bilingual.

Objectives

The main objectives are to create a platform with the following functionalities:

  • a wide knowledge base of entrepreneurial contents in Slovene and Italian adapted to the particularities of the area;
  • an interactive guide assisting in the preparation of a business plan, as well as a Business Exchange providing cross-border business opportunities and possibilities for networking;
  • clustering and experience-sharing aimed at supporting the cross-border realisation of business opportunities.
Main activities The key activities of the project are:

  • analysis of comparable applications on the market;
  • realisation of detailed specifications (regarding content and all technical aspects);
  • verification of the functionality for the user;
  • programming of solutions and optimisation of the programme code;
  • design of the application modules;
  • content writing;
  • verification of adequacy and publication of a test application;
  • testing of technical solutions and testing of functionality amongst the target groups of users, with content adaptation and correction.

The project concludes with the promotion of the portal in the dedicated media, the design and publication of promotional material and the dissemination of the project results among the various target groups of users.

Main results The main direct result of the project will be the creation of NUVOLAK. Through its application and its modules, an overall increase is expected in the number of enterprises involved in cross-border collaboration.

NUVOLAK is also expected to add to the development and further collaboration of existing R&D projects, raise the interest for entrepreneurship and increase the use of the portal by various institutions for business training and the creation of new enterprises on the basis of the cross-border business opportunities identified by the project.

NUVOLAK also provides an excellent opportunity for guidance in the preparation of business plans.

Aspects of good practice The project is offering a multi-faceted and practical tool with a long-term potential for promoting entrepreneurship, business cooperation and economic development on a cross-border basis.
