Description Overall objective: To contribute to improved health of women in the programme area with the emphasis on socially vulnerable groups.
Specific objective: To improve the quality of reproductive health services and raise the awareness of population on protecting reproductive health in the programme area with the focus on socially vulnerable groups.
Activities:
1.1.1. Organise training for medical staff on topics related to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast and cervical cancer;
1.1.2. Procure new equipment for public health institutions;
1.1.3. Organise trainings for medical workers on usage of new equipment;
1.2.1. Organise the Campaign of preventive examinations in urban and rural areas;
1.2.2. Publications on the importance of preventive breast and cervix examinations ;
1.2.3. Awareness Raising Campaign (Press conferences, TV and radio shows and features, TV spot, posters and promotional items, billboards, newspaper articles and website texts) ;
1.2.4. Organise lectures for women on reproductive health;
1.3.1. Organise pregnancy schools ;
1.3.1.1. Organise training for nurses for conducting of pregnancy schools ;
1.3.1.2. Create pregnancy school programme;
1.3.1.3. Organise pregnancy school as a pilot initiative;
1.3.1.4. Promote and disseminate the results of the pregnancy schools;
1.3.2. Develop and print “pregnancy passports”;
1.4.1. Organise Youth camps – Trainings of trainers on reproductive health;
1.4.2. Organise workshops for youth on reproductive health;
1.5.1. Organise cross-border round tables on Improvement of Reproductive Health;
1.5.2. Organise cross-border meetings;
1.5.3. Develop and sign Memorandum of Understanding.
Expected results Results:
1. Improved capacity of public health institutions and the quality of reproductive health services in the cross-border region
2. Population in the target area with the emphasis on socially vulnerable groups provided with the information on the importance of protecting reproductive health and conducting preventive examinations
3. Programme for pregnancy support designed and implemented
4. Youth from the programme area familiarised with responsible behaviour as regards their reproductive health
5. Improved cross-border cooperation in the reproductive health sector
Expected outputs New equipment for public health institutions in Montenegro and Kosovo procured and operational;
At least 2 trainings for medical staff on usage of new equipment organised;
At least 2 specialised trainings on topics related to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast and cervical cancer organised
At least 15 doctors trained on topics related to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer;
At least 15 doctors trained on topics related to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
At least 500 examinations scheduled and implemented within the project;
Campaign of organising examinations promoted through general public and target groups and contributed to raising awareness on the importance of preventive breast and cervical examinations.
At least 4000 leaflets printed and distributed; Leaflets available in electronic form;
At least 30 TV and radio features organised during project implementation;
At least 4 press conferences organised;
At least 100 newspaper articles and website texts published during project implementation;
At least 20 lectures on reproductive health organised in local communities;
At least 200 women from the target region improved their knowledge on reproductive health through lectures in local communities;
At least 4 billboards with the message to preserve health placed;
TV spot with the message to conduct preventive examinations broadcast;
Total of 2202 promotional items and 100 posters distributed in order to ensure the visibility of the action and the information on reproductive health (where applicable, e.g. notebooks and USBs).
Cross-border training for the organisation of pregnancy schools organised;
At least 20 nurses trained on conducting pregnancy schools;
A programme for pregnancy schools developed;
Two pregnancy schools organised;
A pregnancy passport developed and at least 2000 copies printed and distributed.
At least 2 youth camps organised;
At least 30 youth trainers educated on reproductive health;
At least 30 workshops organised;
At least 600 youth educated through workshops.
At least 10 cross-border meetings organised;
Memorandum of Understanding developed and signed;
Two round tables on Improvement of Reproductive Health organized.
