The Press conference with an aim of presenting equipment procured within the project “Let’s Be Prepared” (implemented under IPA CBC programme Serbia – Montenegro) was organised in Podgorica on 8 October 2020. The project is implemented by NGO FORS Montenegro under the IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Serbia – Montenegro 2014-2020.

In addition to the project coordinator, representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro, the Office for European Integration, the Directorate for Emergency Situations and representatives of the Institute of Hydrometeorology and Seismology of Montenegro attended the event.

The conference presented a van vehicle supplied for the needs of the Directorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Montenegro and equipment for the Institute of Hydrometeorology and Seismology of Montenegro. The value of the van is 22,562 euros, while the value of the equipment for the numerical weather forecast and numerical early announcement and warning is 19,350 euros. Vehicle and equipment will contribute to improving the protection of people and goods through risk reduction.

The project “Let’s Be Ready” started with the realization on 1 December 2019 and its duration is 18 months. The total value of the project is 422,967.60 euros, of which the European Union contribution is 359,480.16 euros.  The leading partner on the project is FORS Montenegro, while the partner in the Republic of Serbia is the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The project in Montenegro is being implemented in the municipalities of Berane, Bijelo Polje, Niksic, Šavnik, Žabljak, Pljevlja and Petnjica, while in Serbia it is implemented in municipalities: Novi Pazar, Sjenica, Tutin and Raška.
