In the period from 25 to 29 September, an eco camp was held in Gusinje as part of the project ”Clean community for a sustainable environment and nature – CLEAN”. Eco camp brought together a total of 20, 8th and 9th grade students from Elementary School “Milinko Kušić” from Ivanjica and Elementary School “Džafer Nikočević” from Gusinje.

During the camp, the participants had the opportunity to participate in numerous educational workshops and environmental activities, with the aim of raising awareness about environmental protection and sustainable development. Main topics included waste management, recycling, as well as the principles of climate change.

As part of the rich program, in addition to the educational part, the participants enjoyed nature walks, visits to local sights such as the Grlje Waterfall and Alipaša springs, and also took part in adventure activities such as archery, orienteering competitions and skill games in nature. Also, the participants had the opportunity to camp outdoors in the heart of the Prokletije National Park, enjoying the natural beauty.

This camp represents one of the last activities within the aforementioned project, the aim of which is to improve environmental awareness and cooperation among young people from Serbia and Montenegro.

The CLEAN project is implemented by the mentioned two municipalities, and is co-financed by the European Union within the financial instrument of Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA II) through the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Serbia – Montenegro 2014-2020. The contract for co-financing with the funds of the European Union was signed with the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia – Sector for contracting and financing programs from the EU funds.

The implementation of the project began on December 24, 2022 and will last two years, until December 23, 2024. The total value of the project is 389,635 euros, of which the contribution of the European Union is 330,800 euros.
