“Creating a common future” was a slogan of the cross-border event that took place on 10 July 2019, in Ohrid. This event was organised by 9 projects implemented by 30 civil society organizations, beneficiaries of the Grants from the IPA CBC programme between North Macedonia and Albania, financed by the European Union. The event was held with the support of the Delegation of the European Union in the Republic of North Macedonia, the Delegation of the European Union in the Republic of Albania, the Ministries of Local Self-Government of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania.

The purpose of this event was an initiation of discussion and consideration of the possibilities for the development of tourism and cooperation in the cross-border area between North Macedonia and Albania, as well as promotion of the results of 9 projects implemented under this EU funded programme. Over 150 professionals from the field of tourism, the non-governmental sector, representatives from the municipalities and the business sector, as well as media from both countries, had the opportunity to discuss topics such as tourism and cross-border cooperation between the two countries, and at the same time to get acquainted with the past results and future activities of the 9 projects.

At the beginning of the event, the keynote addresses were: the Ambassador of the EU Delegation in the Republic of North Macedonia, Samuel Žbogar, the Ambassador of the EU Delegation in the Republic of Albania, Luigi Soreca, the Ministers of Local Self-Government of both countries, and the Mayor of Ohrid, Konstantin Georgieski.
