On 27 September 2024, a press conference was held in Loznica as part of the project “Developing Rural Tourism as a Foundation for Future Sustainable Development of the Cross-Border Area of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina”. Current project activities were presented to the media and the local public.
The project is implemented by the Municipality of Han Pijesak, the City of Loznica, the “Gučevo” Hunting Association from Loznica, and the “Studena Gora” Hunting Association from Han Pijesak.
Additionally, the second of four workshops was held, where participants from Loznica and Han Pijesak, with the support of facilitator-trainers, analyzed the cross-border area’s potential and the activities completed so far. A Cross-Border Study on Rural Development and Environmental Protection, prepared within the project, was presented to inform a wider group of local stakeholders about the rural tourism potential and possible future collaboration arrangements.
Project partners highlighted that reconstruction work in Loznica has been completed, while work in Han Pijesak is ongoing. By the end of the year, the Municipality of Han Pijesak is expected to finalize its Tourism Development Strategy, the first document of its kind for the municipality.
